Acupuncture and color

Even though I am an acupuncturist I have an issue with qi as just energy. I do not like the new age posters of energy people (in outer space), or the computer programmer model of DNA that says that we are just alternation of zeros and ones... yin and yang. To me there is no soul or spirit in these ideas. If we are alternations of dark and light then we are fully these two things white light and black the mix of all the colors, and from these colors Creation has drawn our Selves. Selves which are colorful... not just black and white. Instead, a rich painting of alternating colors composes our genetic and energetics. Orange (earth), Orange (light). Yellow (earth), Yellow (light)... Blue (light), Blue (earth), Blue (earth).... not black, black, white... black. Lets not confuse ourselves with our technology.

From an acupuncture perspective, I think the meridians do have energy, but it is the energy and soul of color. Both the colors of light (prismatic) and the colors of the earth (Paints/textural).

In Chinese Medicine the organs are paired toghter. If we think of them as paired by color (prismatic and textural) then this makes more sense. Reds: Textural color is of the heart, and its prismatic color is of the small intestine. Whites/ metalics: textural color of the lungs, prismatic color of the Large Intestine. Greens: textural color of the liver, prismatic color of the Gall bladder. Black to violet: Textural color of the kidney. Prismatic color of the bladder. Yellow: textural color of the spleen, prismatic color of the Stomach.

The yang (prismatic) channels all move inwards to nourish the yin (physical colors), while at the same time being in direct opposition. The physical colors are all stored within the physical structure of the body, and move outwards through the meridians. (allowing for an expression of ourselves, and our capacity to generate feeling and passion in others.

While the yang organs are all about how we are affected by others, the flavors of foods, and our ability to be nourished by warmth that we receive rather then give.
